New Delhi: After much speculation, Apple's new smartphone, the iPhone SE is all set to be launched next week.

Technology giant Apple has officially announced its next event on March 21, where it would unveil the much awaited iPhone SE and an updated iPad.

This launch, while expected, comes almost six months earlier than the Apple event that is usually held in September every year.

Perhaps, it is to quench the thirst of the Apple fans that have been waiting for a new iPhone in the market.

The Apple iPhone SE, interestingly, has been the news for sometime with the company stating it would launch a new iPhone early. And with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with be the heroes of the September event, the iPhone SE should indeed come as a pleasant surprise for fans.

And as for the features, reports and leaks of the smartphone suggest, the iPhone SE will feature a 4-inch screen and be powered by 64-bit A9 processor. It will also feature a 12-megapixel camera with support for Live Photos, NFC and Apple Pay support among others.

It will come with up to 64GB of storage and more and have a 1,642 mAh battery.

iPhone SE will, however, not have the 3D Touch feature, says report.

According to Kuo, Apple is expected to sell 12-million iPhone SE units this year.
