Sensex snaps 4-day losing streak, up 58 points

New Delhi: The BSE benchmark Sensex on Thursday rose by 58 points in early trade, snapping its 4-day losing streak on low level buying.
However, the rupee fell to as low as 65.12 against the dollar, breaching its previous low of 64.54 hit on Wednesday.
The 30-share index gained by 58 points to 17,964 after falling over 1,461 points in the previous four sessions.
Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty edged higher by 15 points to quote at 5,318.
In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was down 1.28 percent, while Japan's Nikkei Index shed 0.82 percent in the morning trade today.
The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.70 percent lower in yesterday's trade.
