New Delhi: This piece will surely come as good news for all selfie lovers as processes are on under the Department of Post of convert them into postage stamp and it could happen as early as next month, as per report.

According to a report in The Times of India, the postal department will soon start a 'My Stamp' facility at Head Post Office where anyone could get his or her photo printed on postage stamp.

To avail the service, one will have to fill a form attached with their selfie and submit it to the post office with Rs 300 which will be converted to a Rs 5 value postage. And the best part? It can be use officially.

"To avail the service, one would have to fill a form and submit it with his or her photograph along with Rs 300. The photograph would be scanned and converted into a postage stamp of Rs 5. The stamp could be used as a official postage stamp. In case one do not have a photograph, it could be clicked on the spot. This facility would also be made available,” the report RN Yadav, senior post master, Head Post Office as saying.

"The process is simple. A good photograph will be scanned to get it converted into postage stamp. In case one do not have photos, then it will be clicked by the equipment on the spot," RN Yadav further said adding that any living person could avail the facility.

Process is on to procure equipment at the post office, said the report.

'My Stamp' scheme was recently introduced in the country and the sheet contains 12 personalized postage stamps.
