Mumbai: Looks like trouble is brewing in the Khan household. According to recent rumours, Gauri Khan is miffed with Priyanka Chopra for her fondness for Gauri’s hubby, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
While no one has so far given the friendship a romantic tag, sources say that Gauri isn’t too happy about SRK’s fondness for Piggy Chops. So much so that now SRK’s coterie is also ignoring the actress.
The actress got a taste of their distaste for her recently, when she attended the Eid celebrations at Mannat. Not only did Gauri Khan royally ignore the actress, but her entire group of friends also gave her the cold shoulder.
Speaking to a daily, a source informed, “Towards the end of the party, after many celebrities had left, Mehr (Arjun Rampal’s wife) pointed to SRK that not many people (including Gauri) were too fond of Priyanka. She asked him why Priyanka had been invited at all.”
The actor was in no mood to answer her questions but politely told her that Priyanka was a good friend. “SRK told Mehr that Priyanka is a very good friend just like she and many others were to him. And if she had any problems, Mehr should address them directly with Priyanka, and not question SRK about inviting her over for his Eid party,” added the source.
Reportedly, Hrithik stopped to chat with his ‘Agneepath’ heroine at the party. Eyewitnesses narrate that they had barely exchanged pleasantries when Gauri stepped in and whisked Duggu away to meet their other friends.
Priyanka’s fondness for the superstar is well known in the industry. Shah Rukh has in the past helped Priyanka a lot. Years ago, when she was going through legal hurdles posed by ex business manager Prakash Jaju, she is said to have sought his help during the Temptation tour.
What remains to be seen is whether Priyanka will get the hint and maintain a good distance from SRK or will Gauri have to make it more obvious.
