Mumbai: After Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan openly expressed his disapproval of Baba Ramdev`s impending fast against corruption, veteran actress and social activist Shabana Azmi has now come to the yoga guru`s rescue.
Speaking about Ramdev`s plan to start an indefinite fast against corruption from Saturday, the actress said, "People are frustrated with corruption. And what Baba Ramdev has done by raising the issue again is a very good thing."
"Earlier, I felt that the fight against corruption has become a big issue but later it seemed to lose steam. But now I am happy that the battle against corruption has been taken up again," Azmi told reporters here.
Asked whether she will join the fight against corruption along with Baba Ramdev, she said, "No, there is absolutely no reason for everybody to go and join everybody. I respect all those who are fighting this battle and there are no individuals in it."
"The issue should be larger than the individual and the need is for the people to rally together on the issue", she said.
