New Delhi: Who doesn't want to lead a healthy life? Well, everyone does and for that one needs to eat a healthy balanced diet with right food items included in your daily meal. But it doesn't happen every day and people often opt for junk food such as pizza, pasta and colas to satiate instant hunger pangs.

Here are some super healthy food items that you should eat on a daily basis:

Fruits and Vegetables

One should always consume fresh fruits and veggies as they are good for health and loaded with many benefits. They are a rich source of fibre and antioxidants as well.

Protein and Fats

Include eggs, chicken and meat in your daily diet as they are a rich source of proteins and fats.

Nuts

They are loaded with essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and dietary fibres which are necessary for a healthy mind and body. Eating a handful of nuts daily helps reduce the risk of serious health problems like heart diseases and cancer.

Yoghurt

Besides being an important source of minerals like potassium, calcium, protein and B vitamins, yogurt contains bacteria that helps in absorption of nutrients in the intestines and stabilises the immune system. Yogurt is also good for the skin.

Salmon

One should include salmon in their diet because it is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, which have been linked to a reduced risk of depression, heart disease, and cancer.

Garlic

Garlic, considered as the natural 'wonder drug', has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Its sulphur compounds, which act as antioxidants, are also found to treat hair loss. Studies have shown that garlic can also control weight gain.

Spinach

Spinach is loaded with lutein and zeaxanthin, two immune-boosting antioxidants that promote eye health. Studies found that among cancer-fighting fruits and veggies, spinach is one of the most effective one.
