'World's heaviest woman' Eman Ahmed to leave for Dubai on Wednesday: Reports

New Delhi: Eman Ahmed, the 'world's heaviest woman', now considerably lighter at 176 kg, leaves Mumbai's Saifee Hospital for further treatment in Dubai on Wednesday, as per a DNA report.

A source at the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) told DNA that, “Eman will be flown in a non-scheduled carrier. She is likely to fly around 2:00 am but the final details are yet to be confirmed.”

The decision to shift the 36-year-old Egyptian national from Mumbai to Dubai, however, came up amidst a lot of controversy. Issues cropped up after Eman's sister Shaimaa Semil alleged that the doctors have been putting out wrong facts and updates regarding her recovery and treatment. Henceforth, the situation worsened with further blame games and name-calling.

However, Saifee Hospital – where Eman is being treated at present – denied receiving any communication from the VPS Healthcare that owns the Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

According to DNA, a spokesperson for VPS Healthcare had earlier confirmed, “This is a complex case and a number of different and special arrangements are being considered, including a hydraulic stretcher being flown in from Italy, special ambulances, etc.”

Upon her arrival for treatment in India, Eman weighed over 500 kg and was suffering from multiple ailments.
