Triggering a political storm, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday spewed venom on Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling him a "psychopath" and
"coward" after CBI raids on the office of his principal secretary and targeted Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over alleged corruption in Delhi's cricket body under his watch.
Rajendra Kumar's lawyer HS Phoolka claims that Kumar has been released after questioning by CBI.
CBI registers a case against Delhi CM's principal secretary Rajendra Kumar and 6 others on allegations of criminal conspiracy and criminal misconduct.
Congress attacked PM Modi as it condemned the CBI raid at Delhi Secretariat but did not come out in support of Arvind Kejriwal either saying that the Delhi Chief Minister used to demand similar action against central ministers at the drop of a hat. Hitting out at the Prime Minister, party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said the action was another example of his "cooperative federalism". At the same time, he said, Congress was "no friend" of Kejriwal for whom "chickens have come home to roost" - PTI.

Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia addresses a press conference, asks the reason behind seizing Delhi CM's files. He adds that investigating Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar is just an excuse, the real target is Arvind Kejriwal. The CBI raided a room where the Chief Minister's files and affidavits were kept, says Sisodia.
Devpreet Singh, the CBI spokesperson, says searches are in progress at 14 locations in Delhi and UP. She adds that the CBI did obtain a warrant from the court before raiding at various locations. Devpreet Singh refutes reports that claim search was carried out at Delhi CM's office. From 2007-2014, Rajendra Kumar, along with six others, abused his position to award contracts, she says.
The CBI carried out searches at 14 places connected with Rajendra Kumar Gupta in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, and claimed to have recovered about Rs 16 lakh, including Rs 2.4 lakh in cash. Foreign currency of the value of Rs 3 lakh has been seized from the residence of Kumar, CBI sources said. Apart from Kumar, the agency has named AK Duggal and GK Nanda, former MDs of Intelligent Communication System India Limited (ICSIL), RS Kaushik, MD of ICSIL, Sandeep Kumar and Dinesh K Gupta, Directors of Ms Endeavour Systems Private Limited and the said firm as accused in their FIR filed under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the IPC.

Strongly objecting to Arvind Kejriwal calling PM Narendra Modi a "coward and psychopath", BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma says it showed the Delhi Chief Minister's desperation to "protect an officer accused of corruption".
Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad addresses a press conference, says that CBI raided at 14 locations, which includes an office and a residence of Rajendra Kumar. The minister reiterates Arvind Kejriwal's office was neither raided nor sealed. He adds that the CBI raided after procuring warrants from the court. Prasad further condemns Kejriwal's remarks against PM Modi and asked for unconditional apology.

The CBI has raided at 14 locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in connection with probe against Rajendra Kumar and his aides. According to Zee Media, Kumar is not cooperating with the CBI in opening his e-mail accounts. Papers of three immovable properties along with cash worth Rs 2.4 lakhs have been recovered from residence of Rajendra Kumar.

A meeting is taking place at Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's residence over CBI raid at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office.
I heard Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's statement in Parliament. He is telling a lie, he is trying to mislead the House, says Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh. This is clearly political vendetta, all files were being searched so as to find a weakness in order to take action against Kejriwal, adds Ashutosh.

"After taking warrants, searches are being conducted in the office and residence of Rajendra Kumar. Parliamentary Affairs Minster M Venkaiah Naidu tells reporters outside Parliament that the CBI does not consult the government as to who will be raided. He adds that it has become a fashion with Arvind Kejriwal to blame Centre and drag PM Modi into everything. The minister says CBI was used by Congress during its tenure, but the NDA government does not interfere in the agency's work.

When asked that the CBI raided Rajendra Kumar's office and not Kejriwal's, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas says the raid is just an excuse as the principal secretary sits in the Delhi Chief Minister's office.
In September 2015, a prosecutor, who had scrutinised the chargesheet in the Rs 100-crore transport scam, had accused Rajendra Kumar of pressurising him not to finalise the report or face suspension.
Despite CBI's denial that the agency has not raided Kejriwal's office, the Delhi Chief Minister continued to target PM Modi on Twitter.
