Ferrari boss challenges side to fight hard for F1 title ahead of Belgian GP

Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has challenged his team to fight hard and have total commitment as the Formula One season clicks back into gear this weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Washington: Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali has challenged his team to fight hard and have total commitment as the Formula One season clicks back into gear this weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix.
According to CNN, although the Italian team had a slow start to the 2013 campaign, the mid-season break allowed them time to regroup, recharge and refocus back on their campaign.
Stating that he wants a positive approach in Belgium as Ferrari is a distance behind championship leaders Red Bull in the constructors` championship, Domenicali said that he does not want his team drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa to believe that they cannot fight back. According to Domenicali, history is evidence that Ferrari should never accept that it is beaten, adding that every member in the team must be the link in a chain of positivity that can drive Ferrari along in what is a key moment in the season. Urging the team to concentrate only on the present and the fight for the championship despite the talk regarding the future of the company, Domenicali also urged his team to pull together, starting in Spa, Belgium, saying that the side can achieve their goals for 2013 despite failing to winning the constructors` crown for four years. Domenicali also said that nine races means that a total of 225 driver points are still available for the side to score a winner, adding that they need to make Alonso and Massa come back into contention by giving them the quickest car possible. Meanwhile, the report said that Alonso currently lies 39 points behind Red Bull`s Sebastian Vettel, who is going for his fourth straight title. Kimi Raikkonen was the last person to deliver Ferrari a drivers` title, in 2007, and there has been speculation he will return to Ferrari in time for next season, the report added. ANI
