New Delhi: As the Supreme Court castigated the Delhi Police and yoga guru Ramdev for the midnight violent incident at the Ramlila Maidan, Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Thursday demanded resignation of Home Minister P Chidambaram, claiming that he has to take responsibility.

"I demand that Chidambaram be asked to resign immediately, taking responsibility for the reckless violence by the Delhi Police...," Swamy said in a statement. He alleged the police would not have done this unless they were asked to do so and, hence, Chidambaram bears "full responsibility".

Activist Anna Hazare did not comment when asked for his reaction on the Supreme Court order. "I will react after reading the judgement," he told reporters.

There is no doubt that the police copmmissioner was directed to organise the force eviction. It is anyone`s guess who can order the police commissioner. It is a blow on democracy and those who are against corruption and demand the loot money stashed in foreign banks to be brought back and the looters be jailed. The present set of politicians ruling the govt. are trying to protect the looters and do not want the nation`s money be brought back. The nation has to force them do that.

Home Minister and Prime Minister were the main conspirators who later said that there was no alternative for Delhi Police
