Bhopal: The three-day 64th annual
International Tablighi Ijtema (Islamic congregation) began
here Saturday morning with the Namaz-e-fajir (morning prayer)at
Eintkheri adjoining the state capital in the presence of
hundreds of Islamic scholars from India and abroad.

Hundreds of Muslims including Islamic scholars and
intellectuals from across the globe are attending the
three-day congregation, the third biggest after the Haj
pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia and a meeting in Bangladesh,
organising committee member, Atique-ul-Isalm told news agency.

Atique said that delegates from Indonesia, Malaysia,
Srilanka, Thailand, Turkey, Russia and Nepal have already
reached here to take part in the congregation.

The Ijtema began early Saturday morning with the morning
prayer at which participants offered special prayer in the
name of Allah for the well-being of the community, peace and
harmony in the country and in the world, he said.

During the Ijtema Islamic scholars including Maulana
Zubair-ul-Hasan (Hazrat ji), Maulana Saad, Maulana Ahmad Laat,
Maulana Shaukat sahab and many others will deliver sermons on
the life and practice of Prophet Mohammad, the teachings of
"Quraan" and on the Islamic Shariat (Law).

The Ijtema was being held annually at the historic Tajul
Masaajid in Bhopal since 1949, but for the last six years it
has been shifted to Eintkheri about 11 KM from here due to the
increasing number of Jamaats (group).

Atique said the MPSEB, PHE, Police, PWD, Unani and other
medical departments and Railways were discharging their duties
round the clock and helping the delegates.
