Police constable run over by illegal sand mafia truck in MP's Morena

Morena: In another atrocious act by sand mining mafia, a police constable was run over by a truck as he tried to intercept the van full of illegal sand in Madhya Pradesh's Morena.

Police constable Dharmendra Chauhan was on duty when he tried to intercept an illegal sand mafia truck, but was overrun by it and died on the spot.

The menace of illegal sand mafia is on the rise as just last month IAS officer DK Ravi, who had taken on the sand and land mafia besides by exposing several builders, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his Bengaluru residence.

After facing pressure from all sides, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah later decided to hand over the DK Ravi death case to the CBI.
