London: Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has admitted he feared his Formula One career may have ended following an ill-fated start in 2012, and added he had even consulted a professional sports psychologist to overcome the suspicions.
Massa said that he did not know about what would happen to him in the future, which sent him into a panic mode, and added that he also contemplated quitting the sports, the Sun reports.
Massa added that the time with the psychologist helped him to bring back his focus on the game, adding that the full support of his family also helped him recuperate. Massa was championship runner-up in 2008 before suffering a near-fatal head injury the following year.
In the first half of last season he scored just 23 points compared to team mate Fernando Alonso`s 154.
