When Sabyasachi goofed up with Virat Kohli's Mumbai reception outfit

The couple hosted a grand reception for Bollywood stars and cricketers in Mumbai.

New Delhi: The high profile wedding of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had the paps go bonkers and keeping social media abuzz with several pictures and videos. Not just their wedding day but the all the ceremonies including Haldi, Mehendi, Delhi and Mumbai reception gave enough food for thought to fans.

Now, all eyes were set on what the gorgeous couple would be wearing for their special days respectively. And both Virat and Anushka chose the classic and elegant Sabyasachi Mukherjee outfits for their wedding, Mehendi, and Delhi reception. In fact, for the Mumbai reception, the actress again decided to trust her favourite designer and wore an ethereal lehenga by Sabya while Virat instead wore a classic black bandh gala by ace designer Raghavendra Rathore.

But the big blunder happened on social media. Sabya's team goofed-up on the outfit credits and wrongly called Virat's attire his creation. However, Sabya was quick to rectify the error and posted another picture of the couple where he mentioned that Virat wore a Raghavendra Rathore creation.

Here's what he wrote on Instagram: “ And BTW @virat.kohli looks absolutely dapper in a @raghavendra.rathore We had made a very similar piece and in the confusion of the great Indian wedding the credits got swapped. Mr Mukherjee is personally a huge fan of the Rathore label and deeply regrets the error.”

For her Mumbai reception, Anushka wanted to wear old world glamour. And we decided to ‘Jazz’ it up in smoky grey. Hand beaten silver thread, textured sequins and cut organza flowers were assembled on an embroidered tulle base to create an ethereal lehenga. Award winning master craftsmen from Lucknow rendered her stunning dupatta which was clinched on the waist with our ‘Bengal tiger’ belt. Anushka’s look was accessorised with a necklace and earrings hand crafted with rose cut diamonds, solitaires and briolettes from the Sabyasachi fine jewelry collection. Hmm...well looks like in the whole wedding hustle-bustle this curious case of credit exchange took place. But the best part is that the top Indian designer was quick to accept the error and render an apology.

The couple hosted a lavish reception in New Delhi on December 21, 2017, where the high and mighty came and wished the couple well. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi too attended the wedding reception and congratulated the duo.

On December 26, 2017, a grand reception was held in Mumbai's St Regis hotel where all the stars descended to meet the newlyweds. It looked like a fairytale romance finally sealing their love with a stamp of marriage.
