Brisbane: As expected, Mitchell Johnson and George Bailey have been included in a 12-man squad for the return Ashes opener in Brisbane.
Both of them have earned their places in the Test side after impressive consistent performances in the ODI series against India.
Bailey can provide the Australian side a certain depth in their batting line, as he might bat in the lower middle order. On the other hand Johnson along with Peter Siddle and Ryan Harris can provide the team solidity in their bowling attack.
Both are in excellent form and can give their side an edge over the visiting English team, which are undoubtedly looking forward to retain the Ashes for the fourth time in a row.
Mitchell has the ability to generate some extra pace and bounce from the pitch and his slinging action and experience can help his team to put a halt to the winning-streak of England.
George Bailey has been consistent with the bat and can change the fortunes of his team with the help of his cool and composed batting style. But still, it would be a testing time for Bailey who will make his debut in the longest format of the game, as Test format is altogether a different ball game.
If Shane Watson would be fit before the first Test, then the Australian squad will look much better with the inclusion of Johnson and Bailey, at least on paper.
