The family of local lad Sandeep Sharma had reasons to smile as their boy was most successful Indian bowler with figures of four for 54 as India Under-19 won the World Cup beating Australia in the final.

Patiala: The family of local lad Sandeep Sharma had reasons to smile as their boy was most successful Indian bowler with figures of four for 54 as India Under-19 won the World Cup beating Australia in the final.
"Sandy (his nickname) laid the foundation as he got Jimmy Peirson out in the first over," Ranjeet, Sandeep`s elder brother, said here today. Sandeep is third among four brothers. His eldest brother Shtarghan Sharma and younger brother Jagdeep started dancing once India won the match. They distributed sweets and starting dancing on the beat of Dhol. "Our neighbours and relatives have stared visiting us for conveying congratulations," said Balwinder Sharma, Sandeep?s father, an agriculturist at a nearby village. Naina Wati, Sandeep`s mother said that all the family members watched the match and were very ecstatic once Sandeep took two quick wickets. The family has been residing in Anand Nagar area situated in the outskirts of the city. Sandeep is a student of Government Multipurpose School and got training under the supervison of coach Kanwaljeet Singh. PTI
