21,000 tickets sold for 2nd Indian Grand Prix

New Delhi: With just two months left for the F1 Indian Grand Prix, the organisers have sold 21,000 tickets, with the maximum sale coming from South India where more than 6000 fans have bought the entry tickets.

Mostly tickets for picnic stand, costing Rs 3500 and premium stand, costing Rs 14,000, have been sold. Out of 21,000 tickets sold, 30 per cent have been picked up by fans in South India, 24 per cent in West, 21 per cent in North and 12 per cent in East India, according to an official privy to details. Fans in Europe have bought 10 per cent tickets so far. The Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida has a capacity to accommodate 95,000 fans. The sale has also started at the physical counters including Cafe Coffee Day outlets in Delhi and NCR zone and also at Mercedes showrooms across the country. While tickets of all categories are available at the Cafe Coffee Day outlets, the Mercedes showrooms are offering only Main Grand Stand and Premium stand tickets, costing Rs 30,000 and 14,000 respectively. The sale will also start soon at the Corporate office of the Jaypee Sports International (JPSI) in Greater Noida. The organisers have also planned some entertainment programmes for the October 28 race. PTI
