New York: 95-year-old tennis player Leon Starr has credited his longevity to tennis and his cardiologist, and remains the US Open`s unofficial poster boy.
According to the New York Daily News, Starr is old enough to be Federer`s great-great grandfather, and at 95, he plays tennis twice a week with his 80-something pals, putting topspin on the ball and placing it deftly where his opponents cannot. He maintains a lifestyle of daily exercise, a low-fat diet and staying engaged in life, and off the court, he is a member of four book clubs, along with marrying twice, the report said. A hip replacement in 1988 and back surgery in 1948 are all that fill his medical chart, the report added. Starr`s cardiologist said that tennis and the love of two good women was the secret of his longevity. ANI
