A leading Hindu organisation in Pakistan on Tuesday passed a resolution demanding the government and all political parties to bring a constitutional amendment allowing non-Muslims to cast dual vote to elect their representative of national and provincial assemblies.
Practical problems are being worked out to enroll non-residents Indians (NRIs), specially in the Middle East, on the electoral rolls, Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi said here on Sunday.
A petition has been filed in the
Allahabad High Court challenging voting rights of nominated
members of civic bodies for elections to the State Legislative
Council in Uttar Pradesh due later this week.
