As there is saying that goes by a healthy heart is the way to healthy living. We all know that a handful of almonds works helps in keeping our hearts healthy. Besides almonds, there are some seeds easily available and considered good for the heart.

Here are a few seeds one must eat for a healthy heart:

Flaxseeds

One should eat 1-2 teaspoons of flaxseeds daily to keep the heart healthy. This seed contains rich amount of antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, which not only improve blood pressure and regulate stress but also lower cholesterol in the body.

Chia seeds

Try adding few chia seeds to a glass of water or drinks during summer, as it prevents dehydration and maintains a healthy heart. It is rich in omega-3 fatty acids --monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) as well as polyunsaturated fatty acids

Pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin seeds are rich in magnesium, potassium and low in cholesterol, which helps in keeping the heart healthy. The seeds also regulate the heart rate and blood supply to the heart.

Fenugreek seeds

One should include fenugreek seeds in your daily diet to lower your blood cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Fenugreek seeds are good for the heart as it is low in LDL cholesterol and high in fibre and antioxidants.

Sesame seeds

Sesame seeds are good for heart as it is rich in oleic acid, which increases HDL and lowers LDL cholesterol and thus, keeps your lipid levels in control.
