Some Mumbai police officials work for Dawood Ibrahim, claims Chhota Rajan

In a startling claim, gangster Chhota Rajan, who was arrested in Indonesia last week, has said that some of the police offers in Mumbai have links with Dawood Ibrahim.

Bali: In a startling claim, mafia don Chhota Rajan, who was arrested in Indonesia last week, has said that some of the police offers in Mumbai have links with his previous boss Dawood Ibrahim.

He, however, reiterated that he is not scared of Dawood with whose his ties turned sour after the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

Talking to reporters outside the Indonesian jail, Rajan chose not to comment when asked if politicians also had links with Dawood.

Rajan, who once operated out of Mumbai and was wanted in India for a series of serious crimes, also claimed that he was tortured by the Mumbai Police.

"I have been tortured a lot by Mumbai Police. They have treated me very badly," he told reporters. 

When asked where did he want to be extradited - Mumbai or Delhi, the 55-year-old gangster said it was for the Indian government to decide and added "but it must ensure that I should get justice". 

Rajan also rejected the cases under which is booked and alleged that the Mumbai Police had falsely implicated him under various cases.

Chhota Rajan, who began life as a black marketer of movie tickets before embracing murders, extortion, kidnappings and more, further vowed to continue his fight against terrorism.

Chhota Rajan operated from Chembur and surroundings in Mumbai from the mid-1970s when he became a trusted henchman of Dawood, now India's most wanted don who reportedly lives in Pakistan.

Dawood and Rajan fell out after the bloody March 1993 Mumbai serial blasts that Dawood ordered to avenge the communal riots in the city two months previously and the earlier Babri mosque razing.
