Third Indian ISIS ‘jihadi’ dies in Syria: Report

New Delhi: A youth from Maharashtra, who joined the terror group Islamic State (IS) in Iraq to fight for ISIS, has died, a report said on Thursday.
As per Twitter accounts that sympathise with ISIS, Abdul Rahman has died fighting in Syria.
Two Twitter handle linked to the terror group identified him as the third Indian to have died out of the group of four who had claimed they were going on a pilgrimage to holy sites in the Arabian Gulf and surrounding countries, but it was only much later, their families and police came to know they had reportedly sneaked into Iraq and joined the IS ranks.
“2 indian in IS Performed martyrdom operation 1 is abu Abdullah Al hindi and 2nd Abu Uthman al hindi. 3rd was killed. May ALLAH accept them # IS,” a daily quoted a Twitter account as saying.
“#IS Raqqah – Martyrs – Brother Abdul Rahman Indian,” another account added as they released a picture of the man.
ISIS or the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is a Sunni, extremist rebel group controlling territory in Iraq, Syria, Eastern Libya and Egypt. The group has been designated a terrorist organisation by the United Nations.
