The transfer of controversial
Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court P D Dinakaran, facing
impeachment proceedings in Parliament following corruption
charges, to the Sikkim High Court now appears a certainty.
In an unusual action,
Karnataka HC today approached the Supreme Court
complaining against its own judge, Justice D V Shylendra
Kumar, accusing him of "berating" Chief Justice P D Dinakaran
by using "intemperate" language.
A section of members of AAB on Saturday openly came out in support of Karnataka High Court Chief Justice PD Dinakaran, facing land grabbing charges, saying he should not be
transferred and be allowed to resume judicial work.
In what is set to be a further embarrassment to Karnataka Chief Justice PD Dinakaran, the Sikkim Bar Association on protested his proposed transfer to their state and appealed to the Supreme Court to reconsider the decision.

Firing a fresh salvo against

administrative functions as impeachment proceedings against
him was pending.
The SC has refused to
disclose details regarding the decision on elevating Karnataka
High Court Chief Justice P D Dinakaran to the apex court,
which has since been stalled following allegations of land
grab against him.
A CPI-M backed farmers` body,
spearheading the agitation against alleged land encroachment
by Karnataka Chief Justice P D Dinakaran, today said the state
government was making no effort to reclaim the land.
