Delhi records second highest mean max temperature for February in last 120 years

Delhi recorded a mean maximum temperature of 27.9 degrees Celsius in the month of February, the second highest recorded for the month in the last 120 years, the Indian Meteorological Department said. While the highest mean maximum temperature for February in Delhi was in 2006.

Dense fog engulfs Delhi even as maximum temperature nears 30 degrees Celsius

The pollution levels recorded in Delhi have remained in the 'very poor' category. While the AQI level in the national capital stands at 309 as of Saturday morning, Noida recorded an AQI level of 323 and Gurugram recorded an AQI of 311.

Dense fog engulfs Delhi-NCR, IMD predicts cold wave conditions till January 31

Dense fog engulfed Delhi and its neighbouring areas on Thursday and led to at least 17 trains running late due to low visibility and other operational reasons. As per IMD a cold wave is likely to hit Delhi and the minimum temperature is predicted to dip by four degrees over the next 48 hours.

Cold wave to hit Delhi-NCR again, temperature to dip further

Indian Meteorological Department forecasted that yet another cold wave will hit Delhi-NCR in the next few days and the temperature is likely to drop by four degrees. "A cold wave is likely to grip the city over the next two to three days as icy winds from the snow-laden western Himalayas bring the mercury down to 4 degrees Celsius," he said.

Dense to very dense fog is likely to prevail in states such as Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, parts of northeastern states, parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Bihar and sub-Himalayan regions, it added. Delhi's air quality had turned ‘severe’ on Tuesday due to low wind speed and high moisture levels, according to the IMD. The city's 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was 404 on Tuesday. It was 372 on Monday and 347 the previous day.
