The galaxy called AUDFs01 was discovered by a team of Astronomers led by Dr Kanak Saha from the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics(IUCAA) Pune. India's AstroSat/UVIT was reportedly able to achieve this unique feat because the background noise in the UVIT detector is much less than one on the Hubble Space Telescope of US-based NASA.
A new study conducted by a team of astronomers has revealed what can happen when a giant black hole fails to intervene in the life of a galaxy cluster. The study showed that passive black hole behavior could help in understanding a remarkable torrent of star formation occurring in a distant cluster of galaxies. It is to be noted that galaxy clusters are made up of hundreds or thousands of galaxies pervaded by hot, X-ray emitting gas.
Scientists have identified a young star with four Jupiter and Saturn-sized planets orbiting it, the first time that so many massive worlds have been detected in such a system. The star, CI Tau, is located about 500 light years away in a highly-productive stellar 'nursery' region of the galaxy, said researchers from the University of Cambridge in the UK.
