COVID-19 curbs eased in these states from today, check guidelines, relaxations, restrictions here

New Delhi: India has been witnessing a steady decline in fresh infections with 50,040 more people testing positive in the 24 hours ending on Sunday (June 27, 2021). As the country’s daily positivity rate further declined to 2.82 percent, many states and union territories have issued fresh COVID-19 guidelines, relaxations and restrictions which will come into effect from Monday (June 28, 2021). 

Several states have decided to start the unlock process as they witness a steady decline in coronavirus cases, while others will still remain under lockdown like restrictions to keep the citizens safe from the virus and prevent further spread of COVID-19.

Take a look at which states are planning to extend lockdown or initiate the unlock process from today:

Delhi:

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued a new set of guidelines for the national capital on Saturday. As Delhi steps towards phased unlocking, now 50 guests allowed during weddings while gyms have been allowed to reopen from Monday (June 28, 2021). 

• After a gap of two months, the Delhi government has allowed gymnasiums and yoga institutes to open with 50% capacity.
• The Delhi Metro will continue to operate at 50% of the capacity.
• Marriages at banquet halls, marriage halls and hotels are permitted with a ceiling of 50 persons.
• Cinema, theatres, spas, schools, colleges and educational institutes will continue to remain closed in Delhi.
• The Delhi government allowed salons to function in the city. 
• Swimming pools, and entertainment and amusement parks will also remain shut.
• Restaurants up to 50% capacity and markets have already been allowed to open.

Tamil Nadu:

Tamil Nadu Government has extended the existing lockdown till July 5. The decision to extend lockdown was taken as a precaution since the state has reported nine cases of the new Delta Plus variant. Based on COVID caseloads, the Government has grouped the districts into hotspots, moderate and low incidence districts. 

As per the latest guidelines, the working hours of shops and establishments in the 11 hotspot districts namely, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai, have been increased till 7 pm.

• The state government announced more relaxations for Chennai and three adjoining districts- Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur.
• Private companies can function with 100% strength.
• Shopping malls can open, but only take-away will be permitted in food courts. 
• Large format stores selling clothes, jewellery can operate without air conditioning and allow 50% capacity. 
• Temples and other places of worship will also be allowed to function. 
• Sports training facilities/camps can function and open-air sports events can be held without spectators. 

Haryana:

The Haryana government on Sunday (June 27) announced the extension of COVID-19 related curbs in the state. The restrictions will start from 5 am on June 28 and will remain till July 5.

• All shops will be allowed to open from 9 am to 8 pm.
• Malls will be allowed to open from 10 am to 8 pm.
• Restaurants and bars will be allowed to open from 10 am to 10 pm with 50 per cent seating capacity.
• Religious places are allowed to open with 50 persons at one time.
• Gatherings in weddings, funerals/cremations are allowed up to 50 persons. 
• Club houses/ restaurants/ bars of the Golf Courses are allowed to open with 50 percent seating capacity from 10 am to 10 pm.
• Gyms are allowed to open from 6 am to 8 pm with 50 percent capacity.
• All production units, establishments, Industries are permitted to function while strictly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

Rajasthan:

The Rajasthan government on Saturday (June 26, 2021) relaxed COVID-induced restrictions in the state and made it mandatory for people to have at least one dose of vaccination to enter public places. The Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government issued a new set of guidelines, issued by the Home Department as a ‘three-layered public-discipline 3.0’ will be applicable from Monday (June 28, 2021).

• Government offices will now be able to open till 6 pm with 100 percent capacity.
• Religious places will start to open conditionally while marriage palaces can open from July 1 for holding marriage programs.
• The operation of mini-buses services in the city can restart after the driver and operator have got at least the first dose of the vaccine.
• Movement by private vehicles will be allowed from 5 am to 8 pm from Monday to Saturday. Public parks will be open for all persons from 5 am to 8 am.
• In gyms and restaurants, where at least 60 percent of the staff has got a vaccination, they will be allowed to open for an additional 3 hours from 4 pm to 7 pm.
• Markets/commercial establishments where at least 60 percent of the workforce has received the first dose of the vaccine, will be allowed to open for an additional 3 hours till 7 pm.

Goa:

The Goa government on Saturday announced that the current state-level curfew, which was imposed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, will be extended till July 5.  “The Government of Goa has decided to extend the State Level Curfew till 7 AM, July 05, 2021,” Sawant announced on social media platform Twitter.

Stores and shops can operate in Goa from 7 AM to 3 PM per day. The state government also allowed marriage ceremonies in Goa but said only 50 people would be permitted.

The Chief Minister informed that the testing has been ramped up at the borders of the coastal state as a precaution in view of the detection of the Delta Plus variant of Covid in a neighbouring state.

Sawant said that private laboratories have been roped in to set up testing facilities as a precaution against the fresh strain of Covid. “We have stepped up monitoring at all the borders after (cases of) the Delta Plus variant of Covid was reported in the neighbouring state," he was quoted as saying by PTI.

Karnataka: 

The Karnataka government on Friday permitted the conduct of marriage functions in choultries, hotels, resorts and function halls involving not more than 40 guests.

Marriage functions in marriage halls, hotels, resorts and function halls, from June 28 but capped number of guests to only 40. In a circular, the government also said those organising marriages would have to obtain prior permission from the local authorities concerned. "The officer concerned will be issuing 40 passes per marriage function by name," said the circular.

Assam: 

The Assam government on Saturday issued new COVID-19 guidelines that will come into effect from Monday (June 28). "The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has issued a revised and consolidated directive today containing directives to further contain the spread of COVID-19 in the districts. Today`s order will be applicable across the State w.e.f. 5 AM of June 28, 2021, and will remain in force until further order," ANI quoted the order as saying. 

• The curfew time for high positivity districts will be 2 PM to 5 PM and 5 PM to 5 AM for districts showing improvement.
• Workplace, business/commercial establishments, shops will be shut in high positivity districts, will open up to 1 PM for moderate positivity districts and up to 4 PM for districts showing improvement. 
• Shops dealing with groceries, fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk booths, animal fodder will be open up to 5 PM in high positivity districts, up to 1 PM for moderate positivity districts and up to 4 PM for districts showing improvement.
• All Government servants (including contractual and fixed pay) who have been administered at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine shall attend office except in total containment areas.
• Private sector entities may take their own decision about the attendance of their employees on this account.
• A complete ban has been imposed on the movement of all public and private transport in the total containment districts. 
• Other restrictions including odd- even formula for plying of vehicles shall continue to remain in force except those specifically modified by this order.
