In a major push for Make in India, the Indian Railways has floated a new domestic tender for manufacturing 44 semi-high speed 'Vande Bharat' train sets, the Centre said. Only India-registered companies can participate and the minimum local component percentage required is 75. The revised tender is in line with the Government of India's preference for the Make In India policy, the minimum local content percentage has been revised to 75%..
In good news for pilgrims visiting the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi, the Indian Railways will soon launch Vande Bharat Express train between New Delhi and Katra. Sources have told Zee News that all concerned departments and ministries, apart from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), have given their approval for the same.
Train 19 is India's fastest engine-less semi-high speed train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag-off the Vande Bharat Express on February 15. Vande Bharat Express or Train 18's air conditioned chair car ticket would cost Rs 1,850 and the executive class fare will be Rs 3,470 for a Delhi to Varanasi trip, including the catering service charges.
