The Bombay High Court has refused to cancel the bail granted to Paulson Joseph Pailtra, an accused in the case related to murder of a driver of gangster Dawood Ibrahim`s brother Iqbal Kaskar.
Bombay High Court said it will look into provision under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) which says accused can get bail if there is reasonable doubt that he didn`t commit offence.
Crime Branch of Mumbai Police invoked the stringent MCOCA in the case of firing outside the residence of Iqbal Kaskar.
Mumbai police has arrested a person suspected to be involved in the firing outside the residence of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim`s brother Iqbal Kaskar, in
which the latter`s bodyguard-cum-driver was killed.
The shootout took place on May 17 in which Iqbal Kaskar’s driver, Arif Sayyed was killed.
The slain driver-cum-bodyguard of
fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim`s brother Iqbal Kaskar was "definitely" the target of the south Mumbai shooting incident, Maharashtra govt said.
It was earlier reported that Dawood Ibrahim`s brother was attacked by four unidentified gunmen.
