सिडनी : भारत आणि ऑस्ट्रेलियामधली चौथी टेस्ट मॅच ड्रॉ झाली. याचबरोबर भारतानं ४ टेस्ट मॅचच्या सीरिजमध्ये २-१नं ऐतिहासिक विजय मिळवला. ऑस्ट्रेलियातला भारताचा हा पहिलाच टेस्ट सीरिज विजय आहे. या विजयानंतर भारतीय टीमचे प्रशिक्षक रवी शास्त्री यांनी केलेल्या वक्तव्यामुळे नवा वाद ओढावला आहे. १९८३च्या वर्ल्ड कप विजयापेक्षा हा विजय मोठा असल्याचं रवी शास्त्री पत्रकार परिषदेमध्ये म्हणाले. १९८३ चा वर्ल्ड कप आणि १९८५ ची वर्ल्ड चॅम्पियनशीप यापेक्षा मला हा विजय मोठा वाटतो, कारण क्रिकेटचा सर्वोत्तम फॉरमॅट असलेल्या टेस्ट क्रिकेटमध्ये हा विजय मिळाला आहे, अशी प्रतिक्रिया शास्त्रींनी दिली.
रवी शास्त्रींनी केलेलं हे वक्तव्य क्रिकेट रसिकांना फारसं पचलं नाही. ट्विटरवरून रवी शास्त्रींवर या वक्तव्यावरून टीका करण्यात आली. तर याच पत्रकार परिषदेमध्ये भारतीय टीमचा कर्णधार विराट कोहलीही उपस्थित होता. हा क्षण माझ्यासाठी भावूक आहे. ऑस्ट्रेलियामध्ये विजय मिळवणं किती कठीण असतं ते मी पाहिलं आहे. आम्हाला भारताबाहेर विजय मिळवणं आवश्यक होतं. आता आम्ही टीम म्हणून संपूर्ण असल्याचं मला वाटतं, अशी प्रतिक्रिया विराट कोहलीनं दिली.

याआधी इंग्लंड दौऱ्यावेळीही रवी शास्त्रींनी केलेल्या वक्तव्यामुळे वाद निर्माण झाला होता. सध्याची भारतीय टीम ही मागच्या १५-२० वर्षातली सर्वोत्तम टीम असल्याचं शास्त्री म्हणाले होते. शास्त्री यांच्यावर या वक्तव्यावरून क्रिकेट रसिकच नाही तर माजी क्रिकेटपटूंनीही टीका केली होती.
