Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India, said that BGMI will also have more announcements coming up for India before the Diwali festival.

BGMI is back in India. Users can download the game from Google Play Store. BGMI version 2.6 to launch on July 10.

The minister said that the government will keep a close watch on other issues of "user harm, addiction, etc in the next three months before a final decision is taken".

The webtoons that will go live include the first six episodes of Night of Silence, Retreats and 100, each portrayed in different genres -- thriller, fantasy and action, respectively. The company said that this comes in partnership with digital storytelling platform Pratilipi.

A total of 512 teams are expected to battle in Round 1 of the tournament. 32 teams that will qualify in the tournament will progress to the BGMI Pro Series. Gamers stand a chance of winning a Rs 75 lakh cash prize by winning the BGMI Pro Series.

The development comes after PUBG developer Krafton had filed a complaint against Garena Free Fire. Krafton had last month filed two separate lawsuits seeking a ban on Garena Free Fire. The Korean developer had alleged that Garena is copying the game designs and elements from PUBG Mobile.

The company said in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the year fell 17.4 per cent on-year to 639.6 billion won. 

Nautilus Mobile is an Indian sports game developer that creates and sells cricket game brands. This would be Krafton's first investment in a game developer based in India. Krafton has declared that it is looking into expanding its company and investing in new areas, including India.

Krafton has also dragged Apple, Google, and YouTube to court for reportedly not taking action against its request. Krafton has alleged the developer of Garena Free Fire made rip-off versions of its game. The PUBG developer added that Apple and Google have refused to stop selling them.

Previously, Krafton used to sanction the offending accounts. Krafton made the announcement via a blog post on BGMI’s website. Krafton revealed that so far, approximately one lakh BGMI accounts have been banned permanently.

When PUBG: Battlegrounds transitions to F2P, it will introduce Battlegrounds Plus, an optional premium account upgrade that allows players to access a variety of new and exclusive in-game features.

Krafton had previously pointed out that gamers under 18 will require consent from their parents to play the game. On similar lines, the company has introduced OTP verification from parents. The OTP will work as a key to playing the BGMI game.

Krafton is also teaming up with Sony Music India to bring their latest chartbuster song "Bad Boy x Bad Girl" by Pop icon Badshah to PUBG: New State.

The game is released in 17 different languages. Krafton said that the new game aims to push the battle royale genre. PUBG: New State has three distinct gameplay modes.

After a technical test in 28 countries from October 29 to October 30, PUBG: New State will be published on Android and iOS in over 200 countries, including India. PUBG: New State was announced in February of this year and has reportedly gotten over 50 million pre-registrations on both Android and iOS.

Krafton has also unveiled a new BGMI logo in the colours of the Indian flag. In July, the updated BGMI game was released on Android, followed by iOS a month later. Krafton has imposed a BGMI ban on dishonest gamers.

The PUBG: New State will be the second mobile title from Krafton that will be launched in India in 2021. The Indian government, on September 2, 2020, had announced a ban on PUBG Mobile India in the country. Battlegrounds Mobile India has clocked more than 50 million downloads on Play Store.

Krafton has unveiled an anti-cheat report from August 20 to August 26 in which it has revealed that the company has banned a total of 1,95,423 accounts for using illegal software. In comparison, the number has dropped by 28 percent. The company has further stated that it performs permanent banning of cheaters and hackers every day.

The company has gifted a ‘Galaxy Messenger Set’ permanent outfit along with some more rewards to the players. Krafton had announced special rewards for close to reaching the 50 million download mark. Krafton has also hinted towards the company’s launch of the iOS version of the game.
