Atanu Das has already become the only recurve athlete to have secured qualification for Olympics 2021. The Tokyo Games was originally scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9, 2020 but was postponed due to coronavirus. The Olympics in Tokyo is now slated to be held from July 23 to August 8 next year.

In September, reigning world champion PV Sindhu had pulled out of Denmark Open before agreeing to play in the Uber Cup, which was eventually postponed. Recently, there was a report which claimed that Sindhu had a rift with Gopichand and that she was not happy with the training facilities for the national camp. In order to work on her nutrition and recovery, Sindhu is currently in England and working with Rebecca Randell at the GSSI.
