A nap is a brief period of sleep oftern taken during daytime.

Benefits
Napping offers both physiological and psychological benefits.

Naps can provide relaxation, rejuvenation and reduce mistakes.

Napping may also benifit the heart – a study found that men who took naps at least three times a week had a 37% lower risk of heart-related death.

According to a NASA study, naps can improve certain memory functions and that long naps are more effective than short ones.

A 20-minute nap can help refresh the mind, improve overall alertness, boost mood and enhance performance.

Negative effects

Naps aren't good for everyone, especially for people who suffer from insomnia or depression as they can worsen these problems. Also, a nap taken too late during daylight may adversely disrupt your night-time sleep

So, try to nap for only 10-30 minutes only. Usually, the best time to take a nap is midafternoon, around 2 or 3 pm although it can vary from person to person depending on their sleep schedule and their need for sleep.
