EPFO New App Features: Currently, salaried employees use either the Universal Account Number (UAN) portal or the UMANG app to access their EPF accounts and related services. 

Having more than one UAN can harm your financial health by causing interest loss, resulting in rejected or delayed EPF withdrawals or creating tax complications among others.  

Under the latest EPFO decision, a bonus or extra amount of about Rs 46,000 could be added to your PF account — depending on your contributions and account balance.  

EPFO Members can delink their incorrectly linked member IDs through the unified portal or they can do so by physically visiting the EPFO office.

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) allows you to correct such mistakes easily through its unified member portal. You can quickly start the process to remove the wrong member ID and link the correct one to your UAN.

Employees with a basic wage and dearness allowance up to Rs 15,000 are eligible to become members of the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF). If company you join is under EPFO, you will get mandatory membership of EPF, EDLI and pension scheme.

EPFO in its latest circular August 2025 has mentioned major changes for PF subscriber regarding Seeding/Correcting Aadhaar in Universal Account Number(UAN).

Retirement fund body EPFO allows PF subscribers to update their date of joining and exit by themselves. Here is the online process to update your date of exit on EPFO Portal.

With effect from 1 August 2025 the allotment/generation of UAN will be done only through the aadhaar based Face Authentication Technology (FAT) in UMANG App. EPFO circular has mentioned that this process is now mandatory for PF subscribers.

EPFO has now made available the services like UAN Card; Scheme Certificate; and Pension Payment Orders of the EPS Pensioner’s through DigiLocker. 

UAN, or Universal Account Number, is a unique number given by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to every EPF member. It acts as an umbrella ID that links all your past and present Member IDs (from different jobs) in one place. If you’ve lost or forgotten your UAN, here’s how you can easily get it back.

To receive these benefits, employees must activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link their Aadhaar with their bank account. 

EPFO, has said that UAN Activation and seeding Bank Account with AADHAAR for availing the benefits under ELI Scheme has been extended up to 30 June 2025.

Members who already have a UAN but have not yet activated, can now easily activate their UAN through the UMANG App.

EPFO has started using Face Authentication Technology (FAT) to generate and activate Universal Account Number (UAN). With this, crores of members will now get contactless, secure and completely digital services.

EPFO has taken two major decisions for claim settlement that include removal of Requirement to Upload Image of Cheque Leaf / Attested Bank Passbook  and removal of Employer Approval Requirement for Seeding Bank Account Details with UAN.

EPFO has also provided de-linking facilities to the members, whose EPF accounts have been erroneously/fraudulently linked by the establishments. 

If your UAN is not linked, you must complete eKYC verification before using this facility.
