Police in Awantipora have solved the case of Awantipora Farooq Ahmad’s killing by arresting three accused persons allegedly involved in the crime. Incriminating material, including a pistol, were recovered from their possession. All the three accused involved in the killing are close neighbours of martyr SI Farooq Ahmad.
Two unidentified terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pampore area of Jammu and Kashmir's Awantipora. The encounter started in wee hours of August 20 at Khrew, Pampore area of Awantipora. On August 19, security forces had also gunned down a terrorist in Thanamandi area of Rajouri.
Awantipora Police along with 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 180 Bn CRPF busted a terror associate module of militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad. They were involved in grenade lobbing incidents in Tral region of Pulwama and Sangam area of Anantnag District. The terror associates have been in contact with Pakistani handlers and have targeted security forces in recent past.
The security forces on Wednesday killed one unidentified terrorist in Tral Awantipora area in Jammu and Kashmir. According to initial reports, the encounter started at Maghama area of Tral Awantipora after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. ‘One terrorist killed. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,’’ the Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet. The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained by the security forces.
