Manish Sisodia said that a specific wing in schools or classrooms where a COVID-19 case has been detected should be closed temporarily. He clarified that the entire school should only be closed in specific cases. Delhi reported 325 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, while the positivity rate stood at 2.39 percent.
CM Kejriwal, Deputy CM Sisodia, Health Minister Satyender Jain and other senior officials are expected to attend the meeting. The DDMA meeting to be held at 3:30 pm today and will be chaired by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. Apart from the prevailing Covid situation, the meet will also review the vaccination programme.
All kinds of shops, restaurants, bars and cinema halls can function with 100 per cent capacity from today. Authorities issued an order reducing the fine for not wearing masks in public places from Rs 2,000 to Rs 500 from Monday. People travelling in private cars will no longer be required to wear masks in private cars from today.
DDMA is likely to discuss lifting of the night curfew, along with other relaxations. The DDMA is also likely to review the city government's order which makes it compulsory to wear a mask while driving alone. The number of daily Covid-19 cases in Delhi has been on the decline after touching the record high of 28,867 on January 13.
