1- Haley was a trenchant critic of fellow-Republican Trump during the election campaign; she is governor of South Carolina governor
2- She is considered as a rising star in the Republican Party; 44-year-old Haley was elected earlier on Wednesday as the vice chair of the Republican Governor's Association.
3- The daughter of Sikh immigrants from Amritsar, her full name is Nimrata Nikki Randhwa Haley.
4- She converted to Christianity when she married Michael Haley, but both she and her husband have attended gurdwara services. In 2014 both of them visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
5- If she were to get a cabinet post, she would be the first Indian American to be in the US cabinet. Haley was elected Governor in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 and her current term ends in 2018.
