ACB summons Karnataka MLA B Sreeramulu

Andhra Pradesh`s Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday issued notice to BSR Congress founder B Sreeramulu.

Bellary: Andhra Pradesh`s Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday issued notice to BSR Congress founder B Sreeramulu, a close associate of jailed mining baron and former Karnataka minister Janardhan Reddy, seeking his appearance within three days in connection with its on-going probe into cash-for-bail scam.

Police said a team of ACB personnel served the notice on Sreeramulu at his house situated in the Avvambhavi area.

Sreeramulu, an MLA, was not present when police served the notice, sources said.

The ACB police have already arrested G Somasekhara Reddy, brother of Janardhan Reddy, and H T Suresh Babu, nephew of Sreeramulu, in connection with the scam and they are currently in judicial custody in Hyderabad.

Somashekhara has been charged with "playing a key role in bribing several crores" to suspended judge T Pattabhirama Rao in granting bail to mining baron Janardhan Reddy.

Meanwhile, Sreeramulu said he was yet to receive the notice.

He, however, said, "Nobody is above law. I will appear for inquiry after getting the notice."

Janardhan Reddy was arrested by CBI last year in connection with an illegal mining case.
