AP Government officer has assets worth Rs 3 crore

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 2.83 crore allegedly belonging to a Special Officer working in Andhra Pradesh`s Urban Land Ceiling Department.

crore allegedly belonging to a Special Officer working in
Andhra Pradesh`s Urban Land Ceiling Department.

A case of disproportionate assets has been registered
against D Venkateswar Rao, posted in Vishakapatnam, after
conducting simultaneous searches at his office and residences
at Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad and Khammam, an ACB official said.

The searches unearthed gold and ornaments, seven flats
in Hyderabad, two plots at Vishakapatnam, seven house plots,
two acres of land in Vishakapatnam and 1.25 acres in Ranga
Reddy district, among other assets, belonging to Rao, he said.

The market value of these assets would be more than Rs
5 crore, the official said, adding the accused officer has
been arrested.
