The Central government will take all steps to clean river Godavari, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Thursday.

Rajahmundry: The Central government will take all steps to clean river Godavari, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said on Thursday.

Javadekar, who holds the charge of forest and environment, took holy dip in the river during the ongoing 'Godavari Pushkaram'.

"Centre has already taken steps to clean river Ganga and all necessary steps will be launched to clean river Godavari also," he told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister N Chinnarajappa said all steps have been taken for smooth flow of pilgrims at various pushkhar ghats.

He along with state DGP J V Ramudu and Municipal Administer minister P Narayana conducted an aerial survey of the ghats situated in Kovvuru, Narasapuram and Kotipalli.

They also inspected the ghats and enquired the pilgrims about the facilities provided in the ghats.
