Five more arrested in Sambshivudu murder case

Nalgonda police in Andhra Pradesh Saturday arrested five persons, allegedly involved in the killing of the TRS leader and a former naxal Sambshivudu.

Saturday arrested five persons, allegedly involved in the killing
of the TRS leader and a former naxal Sambshivudu.

They surrendered voluntarily, police said.

With this, the police have taken into custody 10 members
of a 12-member gang, led by Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem, a
renegade naxal, in connection with the murder.

> Sambshivudu was hacked to death near Gokaram village in
Valigonda mandal on the night of March 26 when he was going to
Hyderabad.

Sambashivudu, whose original name was Konapuri Ilaiah,
was once an active naxal, before he surrendered before police
in 2009, and joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) last year.

Bhongir Deputy Superintendent of Police, Yadagiri told
PTI over the phone that five persons who were taken into
custody had voluntarily surrendered and had confessed to their
involvement in the murder.

Based on the information given by the arrested persons,
police seized a car from Vanasthalipuram, allegedly used in
the commission of the crime.

Nayeem, the main accused, and his close associate Raheem
are still at large.

Those arrested Saturday are: Arun, Naresh, Krishna, P Lingam
and Veeramalla Ravi. Five others had been arrested on April 5.
