Hyderabad: The chairman of National
Commission for Minorities, Wajahat Habibullah, on Friday met
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy here.
The Chief Minister briefed Habibullah about various
welfare schemes that are being implemented in the state for
the minorities, and the steps taken for protection of wakf
properties, an official release from Reddy's office said.
Habibullah put forward some suggestions, it said.
Among other things, the Chief Minister told the NCM
Chairman that Rs 70 lakh were being released for the
rehabilitation of youths belonging to the minority community
who had faced police harassment in the aftermath of Mecca
Masjid blast.
