Hyderabad: Criticising TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao for his flip-flops on continuing fast-unto-death, students of Osmania University (OU) and other educational institutions in the Telangana region on Tuesday vowed to step up agitation for separate statehood.

"Chandrasekhar Rao announced that he would sacrifice his life for separate Telangana. But he called off his fast within two days. He has let us down. But we will continue our fight," students at Osmania University here said during a rally in the campus.
Students of Kakatiya University at Warangal and other institutions in the Telangana region also held demonstrations today.

Rao called off his fast on the advice of doctors at the government hospital in Khammam, where he was being treated last night. Following adverse reactions from the students and other Telangana protagonists, he claimed that he did not withdraw his fast.
He was put in a jail at Khammam two days ago after being arrested near Karimnagar ahead of his proposed fast unto death at Siddipet in Medak distict.
