Warangal (AP): Upset over the violence that
took place over the visit of Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy
to the district, a ruling party MLA on Friday attempted suicide in
front of the media.
Congress legislator Konda Surekha, a known YSR loyalist,
tried to consume some tablets at Mahabubabad in the district
but was prevented by policemen and others. She was immediately
rushed to a hospital.

Surekha alleged that TRS leaders were responsible for
the violence as they did not allow Jagan to undertake a
personal tour to the district to console the families of those
who allegedly committed suicide following the death of his
father and late chief minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Meanwhile, another supporter of Jagan, Congress MLC Pulla
Padmavati suffered a heart attack, her husband Pulla Bhaskar
claimed.
Violence has erupted at Mahabubabad railway station
earlier as pro-Telangana agitators attempted to block the tour
of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is against the separate
statehood, leading to police firing.

Pro-Telangana activists vandalised the railway station
where Jagan was supposed to alight at 11 this morning. There
was heavy stone-pelting and the mob attacked Konda Surekha and
her MLC husband K Murali, who were waiting to receive the MP.
