Telangana division: Anti-bifurcation groups call 48-hour bandh in Seemandhra

The supporters of united Andhra Pradesh on Thursday called a 48-hour bandh from tomorow in Seemandhra regions in the backdrop of the Union Cabinet`s approval for formation of separate Telangana state.

"People need not feel that the division is over with the Cabinet approval. We should oppose it when it comes to assembly and Parliament. The employees would continue their strike. We would like to ask Union Ministers K S Rao and M M Pallam Raju and public representatives about their future plans," P Ashok Babu, president of Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association, which is spearheading the united-Andhra agitation, told reporters here.

The united-Andhra supporters would also block highways during the 48-hour shut-down starting at 6 am tomorrow, he said.
