TRS on Thursday threatened to disrupt Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations on November 1.

Hyderabad: TRS on Thursday threatened to disrupt the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations on November 1.

"AP formation day is a black day for us. We have already said the ministers from Telangana should stay away from the celebrations. But they said they would participate. We are going to obstruct them," E Rajender, TRS floor leader in the assembly, told.

Significantly, some Congress leaders from Telangana have also asked the ministers to reconsider its decision to organise the celebrations. "We want the ministers to reconsider their decision," K Yadava Reddy, a Congress MLC,
said.

Chief Minister K Rosaiah has already made it clear that the formation day will be observed as per the tradition for the last 54 years.

Despite demands from TRS and the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) to stay away from the Formation Day functions, the state ministers from Telangana have said they would participate in the celebrations.

"We also want separate Telangana state. But it is our responsibility to take part in the Formation Day celebrations as long as the state is united. It has been a tradition to the formation day and it will continue," Information
Technology Minister K Venkata Reddy had said yesterday.

However, Congress MP G Vivek has said the party MPs and MLAs have decided to stay away from the celebrations. "We have decided not to participate in the Formation Day celebrations because, we want to celebrate Telangana formation day.

Ministers will participate in the AP formation day celebrations because they are in government," he added.

TRS and many leaders for other parties are demanding a separate Telangana state, which is to be carved out of Andhra Pradesh.
