Karimganj (Assam): BSF would coordinate with Border Guard Bangladesh to prevent infiltration, smuggling and trans-border crimes.

BSF Inspector General Anup Chandra Thapliyal, who recently took over charge of Headquarters Border Security Force, Mizoram and Cachar Frontier at Masimpur near Silchar, told reporters that his first priority was to maintain cordial relations with BGB to tackle the various border problems in a coordinated manner.

Thapliyal also directed troops under command to maintain good and cordial relations with the people residing in border areas.

Thapliyal succeeded Manohar Lal Batham recently, who was transferred to BSF HQ New Delhi as IG Headquarters, official sources said here today.

Thapliyal was one of the founder members of this newly raised Mizoram and Cachar BSF Frontier and also had served in this headquarters earlier as DIG, communication, information and technology in 2008-09.
