Pankaj Bora Cong candidate for Assam RS seat

Guwahati: Pankaj Bora, press advisor to
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has been nominated for
the Rajya Sabha seat from the state, Assam PCC said on Sunday.

The seat fell vacant following the death of Congress
nominee Silvius Condpan.

PCC sources said Bora`s name was unanimously accepted
by the party.

Bora, scheduled to file his papers on Monday, is almost
certain to enter the upper house as the opposition parties
have decided not to field any candidate.

Election, if needed, will be held on December 22.
