12 killed, 13 missing in Bihar boat mishap

Buxar: Twelve people, including
seven women, were killed and 13 others missing today after a
country-boat sank in river Ganga in Bihar`s Buxar district,
police said.

The ill-fated boat carrying 25 passengers was sailing to
Dalupur from Uttar Pradesh`s Ballia when it got caught in a
whirlpool and capsized in Brahmpur block.

Twelve bodies have been fished out, police said, adding
local divers were engaged in search operations for the missing
persons.

Senior officials were camping at the spot to oversee
rescue operations, they said.
