Two wagons of a goods train derailed near Rafiganj station on Monday hampering railway traffic on Gaya-Mughalsarai section.

Aurangabad: Two wagons of a goods train derailed near Rafiganj station on Monday hampering railway traffic on Gaya-Mughalsarai section.

The incident happened at around 11.15 am while the goods train was passing Rafiganj area in the district, East Central Railway (ECR) spokesman Arvind Kumar Rajak said.

"Two wagons, which were at the 10th and 11th position from the rear end derailed on the up line blocking the movement," Rajak said.

Railway officials said the down line was also affected for sometime but was cleared by noon.

Teams have been dispatched to remove the derailed wagons and clear the up line. The entire work is expected to take around three hours, they said, adding, the traffic is expected to be restored by late afternoon.
