CEC Quraishi arrives on a 3-day visit

Patna: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) S Y Quraishi arrived here tonight on a three-day visit to the state to review preparation for the coming assembly polls in the state, official sources said.

CEC and the team of officials will meet members of political parties tomorrow, the sources said. The commission will also hold another meeting with the divisional commissioners, IGs, DIGs, district magistrates and district police chiefs of the 28 poll-bound districts in the first two phases.
The commission will review the poll preparations with the police and civil officials of the remaining districts going to the polls from third to sixth phases on September 21, they said.
